Email Newsletter – Renewal in the Wilderness

This email newsletter began as an exploration of how far I can push the limits of an email newsletter while remaining readable, accessible, and reliable across platforms. I rebuilt an existing Renewal in the Wilderness newsletter from the ground up, using the same source material, rewriting the content in my own voice and rethinking the structure, rhythm, and visual language. The design process started divergent at first, collecting ideas, looking at online examples, and testing layouts, before narrowing into a clear, settled direction. Using Mailchimp, custom HTML, and selective AI support, I focused on typography, color, and layout choices that express RITW’s values including environmental protection, social justice, human wholeness, accessibility, and playfulness while widdling the content into a more legible, simple experience, while making it accessible in both light and dark modes, on mobile, and across email clients.
